This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed in connection with this online academic research survey.

2. Purpose of Data Processing

The purpose of this survey is to conduct an academic research study. Survey responses are analyzed exclusively in aggregated and anonymized form.

If participants voluntarily provide an email address, it is used solely for the purpose of sharing study results and related updates.

3. Data Collected

The following data may be processed:

  • Anonymized survey responses

  • Optional email address provided for follow-up communication

The email address is stored separately and is not linked to individual survey responses.

4. Legal Basis

Data processing is based on the participant’s voluntary consent in accordance with Article 6 (1) (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

5. Data Retention

Email addresses are stored only as long as necessary to deliver the study results or until consent is withdrawn. After this, they will be deleted.

All survey data, including associated personal data, will be deleted from the SurveyMonkey platform after completion of the study.

6. Data Sharing and Processing

Personal data is not shared with third parties.

The survey is hosted on the platform SurveyMonkey, which acts solely as a data processor under a contractual data processing agreement in accordance with GDPR. SurveyMonkey may process technical metadata (e.g. IP address or device information) as part of its standard operation. Further information can be found in SurveyMonkey’s own Privacy Policy.

7. Participants’ Rights

Participants have the right to:

  • Access their personal data

  • Request correction or deletion

  • Withdraw their consent at any time

  • Restrict processing

  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. International Data Transfers

If data is processed outside the European Union, appropriate safeguards in accordance with GDPR are ensured.

9. Voluntary Participation

Participation in the survey and the provision of an email address are fully voluntary. Refusal or withdrawal has no negative consequences.
